Dr. Shannon Thorsteinson is a general dentist in the Atlanta area. She grew up in Wichita, Kansas and Laredo, Texas before moving to Kennesaw, Georgia. Her undergraduate education was at Georgia Tech, where she earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Spanish. There she founded the Pre-Dental Society and the volunteer program at Ben Massell Dental clinic, and both programs are still active 20 years later.
Dr. Shannon attended dental school and a general practice residency at the Medical College of Georgia, now Augusta University, then moved back to Atlanta.

She has been in private practice for over 10 years and is now fulfilling her dream of owning her own dental practice with a complete health focus.
CONTINUING EDUCATION is vitally important to THE WAY SHE PRACTICES
Continuing education is vitally important to the way she practices. As a reference, earning a dental degree requires 300 credit hours. To earn her fellowship she completed 500 continuing education hours, then an additional intensive 1000 hours in functional and airway dentistry just in the last few years. The field is rapidly changing, and Dr. Shannon aims to be on the forefront and bring the latest knowledge, research and techniques to her patients.
Dr. Shannon is passionate about women’s health and giving back to the community. She is a girl scout leader and enjoys sharing her love of dentistry through mentoring and volunteering with dental missions and community events.
She enjoys traveling to see the wonders of the world, singing, playing tennis and spending time with her husband, son and daughter.
