Breathing

The way we breathe impacts our overall health and development. Breathing through the mouth, instead of the nose, can lead to a narrow face, crowded teeth, and trouble sleeping. The goal is simple: tongue resting up, lips closed, and smooth nasal breathing—this helps the face grow properly and supports better health. Myofunctional therapy strengthens the muscles used for breathing, eating, and speaking.

For some, releasing tethered oral tissues (like tongue-tie) can create more tongue space, making healthy breathing easier. Poor sleep caused by breathing issues can trigger inflammation, creating a cycle that harms sleep and overall health.

Bite

A balanced bite is essential for long-term oral health and overall function. When the bite is misaligned, it can stress the jaw joint (TMJ), leading to pain, muscle tension, uneven tooth wear, and headaches.

The goal is to achieve proper jaw alignment and manage forces on teeth to ensure longevity. By addressing bite issues early, we can improve chewing, speaking, and comfort while supporting the jaw joint for stability and smooth function.
